In a few words, what does being a “Trailblazer” mean to you, and how did your path into wealth management begin?
To me, being a “trailblazer” means creating new paths and breaking barriers and leading the way for others to follow. My own journey into wealth management began over 20 years ago in the Retail Bank Branches. I did not set out to work in this industry but I was fortunate to have excellent mentors and training. These experiences were instrumental in shaping my career and igniting my passion for helping others understand financial literacy and creating and managing their wealth.
When you first entered the industry, what did the landscape look like for women, and what early lessons still shape how you lead today?
When I first entered the industry, the landscape for women was quite different. There were fewer women in leadership roles. The women in leadership that I worked alongside had to work twice as hard to not only be offered a leadership position but to earn respect in the room. The early lessons I learned about resilience, determination, and the importance of mentorship continue to shape how I lead today.
What challenges have you faced along the way, and what mindset or skills helped you push through and keep going?
Throughout my career, I have faced numerous challenges, the biggest one for me is balancing work and personal life. Having a “why” is what has kept me going. I want to demonstrate to my boys the importance of a strong work ethic, while carving out time for family, friends, hobbies and self-care.

Where are you today in your career, and what unique perspectives do you believe women bring to wealth management and leadership?
Today, I am a Senior Support Associate and I am fortunate to work with Advisors and a Team that embraces the voice of all members and where I am constantly learning. One unique perspective I believe women bring to wealth management and leadership is the ability to listen and connect on a personal level with clients and team members which helps in building relationships.
Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future of women in wealth management, and what advice would you give to the next generation of trailblazers?
Looking ahead, I am excited to see more women starting their career in the industry at all levels. The industry is changing where women are controlling an increasing share of global wealth. The opportunity for female wealth advisors is growing. My advice to the next generation of trailblazers is to seek out mentors, and to know your “why”. Understand the individuality of your clients, create a network and do not be afraid to partner with like-minded individuals. Be in a pattern of continuous learning because this environment and technology is rapidly changing. Most importantly, no matter what level you are starting at, do not be afraid to ask questions.
